Boing Boing: Bjork hearts filesharing
great quote from Bjork concerning filesharing and the music industry:
> Q: So Bjork is not superstitious then?
>
> A: “You know, its ironic that just at the point the lawyers and the businessmen had calculated how to control music, the internet comes along and fucks everything up.” Bjork gives the finger again, this time waving it into the air. “God bless the internet,” she adds.
>
> Q: And what about you, then?
>
> A: “I’ll still be there, waving a pirate flag.”
The full interview is available at Bjork’s site, which is beautifully designed – yeah, I’m not surprised either.
Great Deals on Macs and Mac Stuff
One of the things I love most about the Net is the growth of useful communities. One such community is dealmac, a site which provides the latest information on the best prices for Macintosh related items. These prices are often submitted by community members, who happened to stumble upon a good deal, and want to spread the word.
The site provides a wealth of tools as well, including e-mail alerts tailored to your needs, and RSS feeds of the latest products added to the site.
The Hivelogic Narrative
Dan Benjamin has redesigned his personal site, The Hivelogic Narrative. As always, it is a great design, this time he moves away from his black gray and white into some muted colors, which are nicely done. But, of much more interest to me, is his use of a three column design that differs from most. Instead of a central content column, flanked by two smaller columns, he has placed the two small columns to the left of the content area. It works better than I would have expected had I tried to pull it off.
He has also managed to place Google Ads on his site so they are visible without being distracting. I look forward to his posting that details all of the changes in depth, as I am sure there are many under the hood that aren’t immediately visible.
Team America: World Police
I can’t wait until October, when the new movie from Trey Parker and Matt Stone (creators of South Park, and Cannibal the Musical) is released. Team America: World Police looks great! How can you not love the idea of marionettes kicking ass? You can’t. Period.
